Sarah Al Matrook

BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Al Matrook is an Architectural Designer at Platform 78’s Bahrain Office. With her background in Art, Design and Architecture, Sarah started developing her career early on in her University years where she has undertaken a few internships and completed voluntary works to find her passion. In late 2018, Sarah interned at European Land Owners on No.3 Cannal Side Walk construction site in Paddington, London where she illustrated construction reports of the development on site in liaison with the site Architects. In early 2019, she interned at Bellway Construction where she shadowed the site Architects on a private development in Essex, Greater London. In late 2019, the University assigned Sarah along with a few other Architecture students to work with the design team at Skidmore Ownings and Merrills to fabricate 1:1 details of the V&A Pavillion. In 2020 during the pandemic, Sarah interned at the Ministry of Works in Bahrain and joined as a graduate thereafter.

She worked on a wide array of governmental projects including:

  • Exhibition World Bahrain
  • Renovation of International Hospital
  • Hidd Multipurpose Hall
  • Sanabis Community Centre
  • Expansion of Polytechnic University Campus

 

At Platform 78, Sarah is currently working on a wide range of projects with the team in Bahrain and the Netherlands; most notably:

  • Bahrain International Sports City Exhibition World Bahrain
  • Al Dana Amphitheatre
  • Manama Waterfront
  • Hemmerle Showroom 72 MHz Solar Farm
